HEAVY STORMS Strike KORAT, Power Lines Downed


KORAT THAILAND — Summer storms and hail struck Korat today and damaged several electric poles and power lines, including one that landed on the mini-van in the photo.

The storm was characterized by heavy rains and 1 cm diameter hail. In the district of Nakhon Ratchasima, several trees were downed as well. 

On the canal waterway road from Dugong to Suranaree Witthaya 2 school a billboard was damaged by high winds and landed on a car.

Near Ratchasima College, the college there multiple power outages.

Mr. Wichian Chantaraneethai, Governor of Nakhon Ratchasima, along with Mr. Naris Chayasaniwit, the sheriff of Nakhon Ratchasima and the local government officials have surveyed the damage and initially ordered the president of the subdistrict administrative organization and village headmen in 25 sub-districts to provide assistance to the victims.

Officials continue to coordinate measures to help people suffering from the wind damage at this time.
