UDON THANI, THAILAND –In the afternoon yesterday, an active bee hive in the Sri Maha Bodhi Tree resulted in an attack on an unlucky man who walked past with his wife.
The couple ran away but the husband died in front of the Red Cross station, due to heart attack. The heart attack was surmised to be caused by the intense effort of running, to no avail, to escape from the bees.
This morning, the Mayor of Udon Thani appointed agricultural cooperatives and provinces to investigate the scene to analyze the cause of the bee attacks.
It has been theorized that the attacks happened right as the victim walked past, during a sudden gust of win, which possibly startled the bees and provoked them to attack.
Later, the victim was handed over to the Permanent Secretary and the Red Cross to render assistance to the victim’s family.
